NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Metro detectives arrested four young men after spotting a stolen car weaving through East Nashville traffic on Saturday, Jan. 10.
A Nissan Altima had been reported stolen just moments before officers saw it driving erratically. While officers were still taking the initial report, detectives located the vehicle and observed it moving recklessly through city streets, eventually merging onto I-65 South and Briley Parkway.
The pursuit ended on Opry Mills Drive, where detectives took all four occupants into custody after the driver briefly attempted to evade arrest.
A search of the car revealed four loaded handguns, authorities said.
The driver was identified as 20-year-old Gary Palmer III. He and his three passengers — Latrego Lewis, 18, Eric Fletcher, 19, and Daequan Moore, 18 — were all charged with motor vehicle theft.
In addition to the theft charge, Palmer faces reckless driving and felony evading arrest. Palmer remained in custody Sunday on a $35,000 bond, while the other three were each held on $10,000 bonds.
