BONNIEVILLE, Ky. — A Hart County man is facing multiple drug charges after an alleged accidental 911 call led Kentucky State Police to a residence in Bonnieville.
According to a uniform citation, troopers responded on Monday after dispatch received two 911 calls from the area. Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles parked in the driveway, each occupied by an individual.
Troopers made contact with Gary Belt, 68, of Munfordville, who was seated in one of the vehicles. Authorities said they detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. While speaking with occupants inside the residence, officers learned the 911 call was reportedly made accidentally while someone was setting up a new phone.
Authorities said Belt admitted he had marijuana inside the vehicle. During a subsequent search, troopers located suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, and a glass pipe.
Belt was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail. He faces charges including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, less than 2 grams), trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
