KINSTON, Lenoir County — Corsean Hatch, a 29-year-old fugitive wanted in Georgia, was arrested in Kinston on Wednesday, February 5, after a routine traffic stop revealed his true identity and multiple active warrants.

Officers with the Kinston Police Department (KPD) initiated the traffic stop on Joyner Drive, where Hatch provided multiple false names in an attempt to evade detection. However, after further investigation, officers confirmed his identity as Corsean Hatch from Lithonia, Georgia.

As officers requested that Hatch exit his vehicle, he attempted to push past them, leading to additional charges for resisting a public officer. It was later discovered that Hatch had an outstanding fugitive warrant from two counties in Georgia, as well as active warrants in North Carolina for fleeing to elude and statutory rape.

Hatch now faces multiple charges, including identity theft and resisting arrest. He is currently being held at the Lenoir County Jail, awaiting extradition to Georgia where he will face the original charges.

The arrest serves as a reminder of the importance of law enforcement coordination across state lines and the determination to bring fugitives to justice.
