CUMBERLAND, Md. — A Frostburg man is awaiting trial after being arrested during a search warrant at his Park Avenue apartment, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jason D. Achampong, 23, was taken into custody Tuesday on 18 charges, including two felonies, stemming from a fraud investigation into alleged violations that occurred the previous Sunday, court documents indicate.

Achampong was granted pretrial release after posting a $5,000 bond set by a district court commissioner.

The investigation remains ongoing. Deputies were assisted by the C3I Unit and the Frostburg Police Department during the arrest.
