In a remarkable breakthrough, Dhenkanal Town Police have arrested four individuals linked to a string of burglary cases across the area.
The accused — Milu Naik, Lipu Naik, Tapu Naik, and Munu Naik — were apprehended on Sunday in connection with Town P.S. Case No. 718 dated 08.10.2025, registered under Sections 331(4)/305 BNS.
During their latest heist, the gang carried out an unusual act — after breaking into a house, they prepared and ate Maggi noodles inside the premises. They also stole brinjals from the kitchen garden, adding a peculiar twist to the crime.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the four were habitual offenders involved in several other burglary incidents in and around Dhenkanal.
Police recovered a large haul of stolen property, including 154 grams of gold ornaments, 910 grams of silver ornaments, a Samsung 80 cm LED TV, five mobile phones, Rs 5,000 in cash, a hair dryer, six fans, and Hexa blades.
The Dhenkanal Town Police have assured that strict legal action will be taken against the culprits and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities without delay.
