Four Drug Traffickers Arrested in Shillong with Heroin

Police seize 121.75 grams of heroin from four traffickers in two operations.

In a major drug bust, four drug traffickers were arrested in two separate operations in Shillong on Saturday. The first arrest involved Ram Singh (29) and Vijay Singh (20), both residents of Punjabi Lane. They were apprehended by the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of East Khasi Hills, along with the Mawlai police team, at the ISBT, Mawiong. Police recovered 9 soap boxes containing 110.32 grams of heroin, two mobile phones, and an unregistered Aprilia scooty.

In a second operation, Evanjrlyne Thongni of Lapalang, Lummarboh, and John Robert Kharmyndai of Nongmynsong were arrested from Demthring under the Madanrting police station. From their possession, police seized one soap box containing 11.43 grams of heroin, two mobile phones, and a scooty (ML 05 L 7620).

The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by local authorities to combat drug trafficking in Shillong, and the investigation continues to uncover further details.
