Four Connecticut Residents Arrested in Nassau Jewelry Scam

Victims ranged from 18 to 94 in grand larceny cases

NASSAU COUNTY, N.Y. — Four people from Connecticut have been arrested in connection with a jewelry scam affecting residents across Nassau County, police said.

Authorities identified the suspects as Cosmina Caldaruru, Laura Calin, Alexandru Dumitru, and Constantin Dumitru, all of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Each faces grand larceny charges for their alleged role in the thefts.

Police reported that the victims ranged in age from 18 to 94, with jewelry removed during multiple incidents throughout Nassau County.

Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the scheme and urge residents to report any related thefts.
