VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) – The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) announced on May 2 that four individuals have been arrested, and they are searching for a fifth person in connection to a shooting that occurred on April 26.

The VPD is currently searching for 19-year-old Kewame “KJ” Taylor, who is considered armed and dangerous. He faces charges including aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Two of the arrested individuals, 20-year-old Trevion “Tre” McGee and 18-year-old Tyrese “Bubalo” McGee, turned themselves in to the VPD following the shooting. The other two arrested individuals, 18-year-olds Callon “CJ” Sturrup and Caleb Dennis, were taken into custody shortly after.

The four suspects are being held in the Lowndes County Jail, facing felony charges related to the shooting.

VPD responded to reports of the shooting at the Friendly Express gas station on Inner Perimeter Road around 11 p.m. on April 26. However, when officers arrived, no individuals involved in the altercation could be found. Later, authorities were notified of an 18-year-old man who arrived at the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

According to VPD, the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two large groups, with multiple shots fired during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and VPD expects additional charges to be filed as they continue their work.
