Four Arrested in Washington County Drug Operation, One Still Wanted

Demetrius M. Lewis, Reginald Dawson, Kendrick Reeves, and Keon Cooper face serious drug and firearm charges.

Washington County, GA (WGXA) – Four Middle Georgia men were arrested Wednesday in a major drug investigation, with authorities still searching for a fifth suspect, according to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).

The coordinated operation, which involved the WCSO, the Middle Georgia Gang Taskforce, the Georgia Department of Community Supervision, the Georgia State Patrol, and the Sandersville Police Department, led to the arrest of Demetrius M. Lewis, 46, Reginald Dawson, 44, Kendrick Reeves, 46, and Keon Cooper, 26, all from Washington County.

Authorities say that after their arrests, officers seized crack cocaine and powder cocaine from Lewis, along with three firearms from Dawson. Each suspect faces multiple charges:

Demetrius M. Lewis is charged with:

Two counts of sale of cocaine

Two counts of using a communication device to facilitate a felony

Possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute

Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute

Reginald Dawson faces:

Two counts of sale of cocaine

Two counts of using a communication device to facilitate a felony

Three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Possession of marijuana

Kendrick Reeves is charged with:

Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Possession of marijuana

Keon Cooper faces:

Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute

Authorities are also still searching for Shedrick Mack, 44, from Tennille, who is wanted for three counts of sale of crack cocaine and three counts of using a communications device to facilitate a felony.

All four arrested suspects are currently in custody at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
