A special team from the Cyber Crime Police Station has successfully arrested four youths from the Kanpur region in connection with a cyber-fraud case. The fraud involved deceiving Harpreet Singh, a resident of Sukhchain village in Sirsa, with promises of high profits from stock market trading. The accused convinced him to invest nearly Rs 23 lakh.

Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan provided details about the case. The arrested individuals were identified as Moin Ahmed and Atiq Ahmed from Rasulabad, Kanpur Dehat, Wasim Ansari from Minhajpur, Prayagraj, and Hamid Raja from Kareli, Prayagraj. After being presented in court, the suspects were taken into police custody, with a four-day police remand granted for further investigation.

Bhushan explained that during the remand, investigators would recover the defrauded amount and the mobile phones used in the scam. The fraud was reported after a complaint from Harpreet Singh, who was lured into the scam through Telegram by the accused. He was promised huge returns from stock market trading, but ultimately lost Rs 22,82,239.

The investigation, which began on January 27 following the victim’s complaint, led to the arrest of the four suspects from Kanpur. Bhushan assured that the investigation is ongoing, and any other individuals connected to this cyber fraud network will face legal action.
