MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Four Durham residents were arrested on Sunday in connection with a well-coordinated retail theft scheme at two stores in Morrisville, according to warrants issued by the Morrisville Police Department.
The suspects, Sarah Regina Howard, 57, Camia Nickell Holloway, 23, Yvonne Vonetta Holloway, 51, and Tyrone Laterl Sanford, 32, are facing several felony charges related to organized retail theft, possessing stolen goods, and felony conspiracy. Howard is additionally charged with misdemeanor larceny, while the others face misdemeanor charges for aiding and abetting larceny.
The thefts occurred at Bath & Body Works and TJ Maxx, where stolen items including candles, purses, clothing, and hygiene products were taken, with the total value exceeding $2,000. According to Morrisville Police Chief Pete Acosta, officers were initially alerted to a suspicious vehicle at a Morrisville shopping center. Upon investigation, the police found stolen merchandise in the vehicle.
The suspects are believed to have split up, each stealing from different stores, and then regrouping at the vehicle. The police investigation revealed that this theft ring may involve other stores in the area.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are searching for two additional suspects, including 61-year-old Satara Lanaye Brown of Durham, who is considered a person of interest.
Morrisville police are collaborating with other law enforcement agencies to determine if the suspects were involved in similar thefts in other locations.
