Cyber Crime Unit Cracks Down on Online Fraud in Palwal

by Ananya Mehta

Palwal Police, led by Inspector Naveen Kumar, have arrested four individuals involved in an online scam where they deceived people by posing as motorcycle sellers using fake SIM cards and social media profiles. The arrests came after the police discovered posts and QR codes related to the fraudulent motorcycle sales on the mobile phones of two of the suspects.

The cyber-crime police station received a tip about the fraudulent activities, which led to the identification of two men involved in the scheme. Harmuz and Wasim, residents of Lakhnaka village, were caught near Hathin bypass road while riding a bike. They were arrested, and an FIR was filed against them at the cyber-crime police station.

Following their arrest, police apprehended two more suspects, Junaid and Nizam Ahmad, who had been supplying the fake SIM cards used for the scam. All four individuals are being interrogated as the investigation continues.
