Four Arrested in Limestone County After Major Drug Bust

Meth, marijuana, and firearms seized in traffic stops and home search

by Amelia Crawford

Four individuals were arrested in Limestone County, Alabama, following a narcotics operation that led to the discovery of methamphetamine, marijuana, and firearms.

On January 9, the Limestone County Narcotics Unit, in coordination with the Athens Police Department, conducted a search at a home on Grant Dr. in Elkmont after receiving multiple complaints about illegal activity at the location. Surveillance of the home led officers to initiate two traffic stops, both of which resulted in significant drug and firearm seizures.

During the first traffic stop, K-9 Szakal assisted officers in locating 2 ounces of methamphetamine, half an ounce of marijuana, and a firearm. The second stop revealed another 2 ounces of methamphetamine and two firearms.

The evidence from the traffic stops provided probable cause for officers to obtain a search warrant for the Grant Dr. residence. The Limestone County SWAT team executed the warrant and discovered over 1,507 grams (approximately 3.3 pounds) of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and two additional firearms.

As a result of the operation, four individuals were arrested and charged:

Danielle Latrice Crutcher (31): Two counts of drug trafficking, two counts of possession of a pistol by an addict, and other related charges. She is currently held in the Limestone County Jail on a $205,000 bond.
Dartavian Anwar Crutcher (19): Drug trafficking and possession of a pistol by an addict. He is being held on a $101,000 bond.
Deandre Marquis Vaughn (21): Drug trafficking, released on a $100,000 bond.
Uganda Tanzania Crutcher (51): Obstructing governmental operations, released on a $1,000 bond.
The investigation and arrests highlight ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat illegal drug activity in Limestone County.
