Four Arrested in Greer’s Cash Saver Meat Theft Scheme

Employees & Accomplices Charged in $2,700 Fraud Case

Authorities in Semmes, Alabama, arrested four individuals for their involvement in an organized retail theft scheme at Greer’s Cash Saver grocery store, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reported.

Meat Department Price Manipulation
The investigation began Thursday, revealing that employees and their associates had been purchasing meat products—including chicken, bacon, steaks, and ground beef—at significantly reduced prices.

Investigators found that the meat department manager had been printing fraudulent price tags with lower prices and attaching them to items for friends, family, and co-workers.

The following individuals were arrested:

Ernest Ray Gray

Roland Alphonse Taylor

Jo Ann Mosley

Latonya Harris

The scheme resulted in over $2,700 in losses for the store.

Ongoing Investigation
