In a shocking case of murder over a loan repayment dispute, four men were arrested in Gurugram for killing Rakesh Kumar, a 46-year-old man from Delhi. The victim, a cashier at a private firm in Gurugram, was murdered on December 22 after repeatedly demanding the repayment of a Rs30,000 loan.

The body of Rakesh Kumar was discovered on December 23 in Binola, with marks of strangulation on his neck. However, it wasn’t until December 30 that the victim’s identity was confirmed by police through his family members.

The Gurugram Police arrested the two primary accused, Avnish Kumar (32) and Bobby Kumar (34), on Friday, and their associates, Mukesh Kumar (29) and Shivam Kumar (28), on Saturday. Police stated that Avnish, who worked as a delivery executive in Gurugram, had borrowed the Rs30,000 loan from Rakesh before Diwali. Despite promising to repay it within a month, he failed to do so, leading to Rakesh pressuring him for the repayment.

Unable to deal with the demands, Avnish conspired to kill Rakesh and enlisted the help of his friends Bobby (a cab driver) and Mukesh and Shivam, who worked as loaders at a transport firm in Wazirabad.

On December 22, Avnish arranged to meet Rakesh at Shankar Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. Once Rakesh arrived, he was lured into Bobby’s car by Avnish, Mukesh, and Shivam, who drove him to Panchgaon Chowk in Manesar. There, the four men strangled Rakesh with a piece of cloth before disposing of his body in Binola.

Following the discovery of the body, police launched an investigation and registered a murder case in Bilaspur. The vehicle used in the crime has been recovered, but Rakesh’s phone remains missing, and authorities are still searching for it.

The four accused were sent into judicial custody on Sunday as the investigation continues.
