Coimbatore police have arrested four young men in connection with the murder of R. Surya, a 22-year-old college student from Palanganatham, Madurai, whose decomposed body was found on May 11 at the Vellalore integrated bus terminal.
Arrested Accused:
B. Karthik (20) – Avaniapuram, Madurai
K. Mathesh (21) – Vilacheri Road, Madurai
Naren Karthik (20) – Podanur, Coimbatore
Mohammed Rafi (21) – Podanur, Coimbatore
Police confirmed that the accused were taken into custody following an intensive investigation after Surya’s body was discovered in an abandoned section of the Vellalore bus terminal building.
While the motive for the murder has not yet been officially disclosed, sources suggest personal enmity or gang-related disputes may be involved. The body had reportedly been at the site for several days before being discovered, leading to decomposition.
The arrested individuals are being interrogated for further details, and police say more developments may follow.
