by Sophia Bennett

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A former Cobb County firefighter, Daniel Trapp, 35, has been arrested on charges of theft, burglary, and making false statements.

Trapp, who held the rank of lieutenant, resigned in lieu of termination after an internal investigation revealed multiple policy violations. Authorities say that despite being instructed not to return, Trapp entered Cobb County Fire Station 4, where he allegedly took a set of turnout gear, a lieutenant’s badge, and a raincoat, valued at an estimated $3,500.

He was booked into the Cobb County Jail on Thursday. The investigation is ongoing.
