A Florida man, Jason Brooks, 49, was arrested after his drone, carrying methamphetamine and fentanyl, crashed into a home in Hillsborough County. Homeowners contacted authorities after Brooks appeared at their front door following the incident.
Deputies responded to the scene and discovered the crashed drone along with several bags containing methamphetamine and fentanyl. Body camera footage released by the sheriff’s office shows deputies finding Brooks outside the home holding the drone’s remote control.
The video also shows a deputy inspecting the drug bags, including one labeled “share this.” Brooks was then asked to hand over the remote and was taken into custody on charges including possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell or deliver. He also faces additional charges related to his vehicle being unregistered and lacking proper tags.
