In a major breakthrough, the Thalaghattapura Police have arrested five Nepali nationals in connection with a high-value burglary reported in JHBCS Layout, Gubbalala, Bengaluru. The suspects allegedly broke into a house and stole valuables worth approximately Rs50 lakh, including 502 grams of gold, 4.5 kg of silver, diamond jewellery, and two mobile phones.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda confirmed the arrests on Tuesday and praised the swift action by local law enforcement.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Lal Bahadur Bohara (48)
Kamal Bahadur Chalouni (34)
Kiran Bohara (23)
Netra Bahadur Chalouni (42)
Rajesh Bahadur Saha (35)
All five were reportedly working as daily wage labourers in hotels and other local establishments, using their employment as a cover while allegedly planning and executing the burglary.
The investigation revealed that the gang had carefully targeted the home and made off with high-value ornaments and electronics. Following the theft, a police team was formed and deployed for a detailed probe, which led to the identification and arrest of the culprits.
Further investigation is ongoing to determine if the gang was involved in similar thefts across Bengaluru or other cities.
