In a significant move against drug trafficking, Shimla police have arrested five associates of the notorious Shah syndicate, led by Sandeep Shah, a software engineer turned interstate drug kingpin.

The arrested individuals are Puneet Chauhan, Suniel Sharma, Vanish Sarkaik, Rohit Chandel, and Umesh, all involved in heroin trafficking. They were arrested in various parts of Shimla, including Sanjauli, Lower Khalini, Karani village, and Matiana.

Following a detailed investigation, the Shimla Superintendent of Police (SP), Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, confirmed their involvement in the illegal drug trade. The police had uncovered their roles in trafficking heroin, leading to their arrest under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

The investigation is still ongoing, and more arrests are expected as authorities continue to crack down on this drug syndicate. The police are working diligently to dismantle the operation and apprehend other members involved in the racket.
