Five Montgomery Teens Arrested After Auburn Police Chase

Suspects charged with retail theft and eluding police

AUBURN, Ala. — Five teenagers from Montgomery were arrested Wednesday after a police pursuit in Auburn that ended in multiple collisions and damage to police vehicles.

Auburn police charged all suspects with first-degree retail theft following theft reports from two businesses located on East Glenn Avenue and South College Street.

The suspects are:

Brooklyn Denson, 19

Char’Myia Quan’Dashia Rena Mitchell, 19

Tyrese Smith, 18

Two juveniles, ages 17 and 16

Mitchell faces an additional charge of obstructing justice using a false identity. Denson is charged with obstructing justice using a false identity and felony attempting to elude law enforcement.

After receiving suspect descriptions, officers located the vehicle on North Donahue Drive. The driver fled, triggering a high-speed chase that ended near mile marker 31 on Interstate 85.

Following their arrest, further investigation confirmed the suspects’ involvement in the business thefts.

Denson, Mitchell, and Smith were booked into Lee County Jail with bonds set at $15,000, $10,000, and $5,000, respectively. The two juveniles were released to authorized adults per Lee County Juvenile Intake Office guidelines.
