In a significant operation on Tuesday, Alephata police arrested five members of a diesel theft gang from Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh. The gang, which specialized in stealing diesel from parked trucks along highways, was caught after a tip-off. The suspects were identified as Rajaram Parmar (48), Feroz Khan (28), Omprakash Bairagi (44), Kallu Mansuri (38), and Vinod Singh (28).

The police team, led by Inspector Dinesh Tayade, tracked the gang’s movements and intercepted them after receiving information about their plans to steal diesel along the Pune-Nashik highway. On January 17, the gang had stolen 200 liters of diesel from a parked truck at Ale village.

After laying a successful trap, the police arrested the suspects and seized a truck along with cash, totaling Rs 15 lakh. During the investigation, it was revealed that the gang would typically target parked trucks at night, stealing diesel and reselling it at a lower price. Authorities continue to search for the kingpin, who remains on the run.
