In a major breakthrough, police have arrested five interstate burglars connected to a high-value jewellery workshop heist, recovering gold, silver, and cash totaling Rs 87.48 lakh. Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar confirmed the arrests earlier this month.

The suspects — Shubham Tanaji Sathe (25), Praveen Appa Sathe (23), Nilesh Bapu Kasturi (19), Sagar Dattatreya Kandgale (32), and Rohit Shrimant Bhagav (25) — all residents of Solapur district, Maharashtra, were found responsible for the daring break-in at Vaibhav Gold and Silver Melting and Refinery on September 8.

During the robbery, the gang disabled CCTV cameras to execute the theft undetected. Following a thorough investigation, a police task force tracked the suspects to Nimhav, Solapur, where stolen valuables and a vehicle used in the crime were seized.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Manjunath V Badiger and SP Hariram Shankar, highlighting effective coordination between the police teams.
