In a major crackdown on narcotics, Kashmir police arrested five alleged drug peddlers and seized a significant quantity of contraband substances across several districts on Friday.
Key Arrests and Seizures:
Anantnag: Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, resident of Sehgund Saller, and seized 24.7 kg of ganja. Bhat was arrested on the spot.
Kupwara: During a routine check in the Keran area, police apprehended Tariq Sajad Khan and recovered a substantial amount of charas-like substance.
Budgam: At a checkpoint in Hakermulla, police arrested two suspects, Mohammad Yaseen Rather (Nasrullapora) and Muzaffar Ahmad Malik (Soibugh), who tried to flee. Authorities seized 7.63 grams of a heroin-like substance from them.
Pulwama: Police raided a house in Chersoo, Awantipora, following a tip-off and recovered 16 kg of bung powder and 26 grams of charas. The owner, Aqib Rashid Sheikh, was arrested.
The police continue their war against drugs in the region, intensifying efforts to dismantle narcotics networks.
