Five Charged with Unlawful Conduct in A’Kyri Bell Murder

Horry County police expand charges in child murder case

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — Five individuals now face charges of unlawful conduct toward a child in connection with the murder investigation of 11-year-old A’Kyri Bell.

The accused and their charges are as follows:

Lakesha Burnett, 34, faces two counts

Alantis Thomas, 21, faces two counts

Darnell Dearmus, 20, faces one count

Margaret Roberson, 56, faces three counts

Camisha McGaskey, 31, faces three counts

Authorities say a sixth individual is expected to be charged with unlawful conduct toward a child in the coming days.

Camisha McGaskey, previously charged with murder in the case, remains in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

The Horry County Police Department continues to investigate as the community awaits further updates on this tragic case.
