In a major breakthrough, police have arrested five individuals in Choolaimedu on charges of possessing cocaine with the intent to sell. The police seized 55 grams of cocaine, 850 grams of green ganja, and several weighing machines during the operation.
The arrests follow a series of raids beginning on January 25, targeting drug peddling activities in the region. Based on confessions from individuals arrested in previous operations, the police apprehended Mayur Purat, 35, from Perambur; Nalimbadi, 23; Rayan Dani, 19, from Choolaimedu; Michael, 20, from Anna Nagar; and Ayan Khan, 21, from Ramapuram.
Authorities have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking in the area, seizing significant quantities of illegal substances. Investigations are ongoing to uncover any further links and identify other individuals involved in the drug trade.
