BATON ROUGE, La. — A FedEx driver was arrested after authorities recovered $32,000 worth of stolen merchandise intended for Walmart, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office reported.
Detectives were contacted by a Walmart global investigator who reported that multiple packages scheduled for delivery to Walmart had gone missing. Because the packages were equipped with tracking devices, investigators were able to trace the stolen items to an apartment on the 6000 block of Jones Creek Road.
A search warrant was executed at the residence, leading to the recovery of the merchandise. Draterrius McCollough, 31, was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of theft.
