In a decisive crackdown on narcotics, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru arrested multiple individuals, including a key supplier from Kerala, leading to major drug seizures across the city.
In a targeted raid in the DJ Halli police limits, the CCB apprehended Fayaz Khan, a 28-year-old native of Kerala, for allegedly trafficking 523 grams of MDMA crystals, valued at nearly Rs55 lakh on the street. Two mobile phones were also seized during the operation.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda confirmed the operation, stating that investigations are ongoing to identify other players in the trafficking ring. “We are tracking the network supplying synthetic drugs to the city,” he said.
In a separate incident, a security guard-turned-drug peddler was arrested, and police recovered 3.2 kg of narcotics worth Rs2.5 lakh. Further raids across the city yielded 1,500 Tramadol tablets and 870 injections, indicating a broader drug distribution network.
The latest operations follow a similar December 2024 bust, where the Bengaluru police dismantled a narcotics network linked to an incarcerated drug lord. That operation resulted in seizures worth Rs71 lakh.
The CCB also detained Gautam (35), an alleged associate of Fayaz Khan, from Nagarabhavi. Initial probes reveal the duo was sourcing synthetic drugs from Kerala and distributing them to local consumers.
Police believe more arrests are likely as investigations uncover deeper links to drug syndicates operating across state borders.
