Police in Ganderbal arrested a notorious drug peddler, Fayaz Ahmad Chichi, after seizing 9.8 kilograms of contraband bhang powder from his property in Chichipati Hariganiwan.
Acting on credible intelligence, police raided a cowshed owned by Chichi, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Chichi, and discovered the bhang powder concealed in a nylon bag. He was immediately taken into custody at the scene.
Authorities have confirmed that Chichi is a repeat offender and has been under watch for his suspected involvement in narcotics trade in the region. A case has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the source and potential distribution network of the contraband.
This operation is part of Ganderbal Police’s continued crackdown on drug trafficking in Jammu and Kashmir.
