The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Zone-6 recently uncovered a shocking case of medical malpractice in the Barrel Market area of Danilimda. A fraudulent hospital, operated by a father-son duo, was exposed following a confidential tip-off. PSI NK Jadeja led a raid on the premises, leading to the arrest of 70-year-old Abdul Rashid Ismail Sheikh, who was found treating patients at the illegal facility. His son, Sameer Sheikh, managed to flee and is currently on the run.

The fraudulent hospital had been operating for several years, with fabricated medical certificates displayed on the walls to deceive unsuspecting patients. During the raid, the LCB team confiscated various medical supplies, including syringes, injections, and an inventory of allopathic medicines—items that were being stored without the necessary authorisation or safety protocols. The total value of the seized goods is estimated at Rs 19.50 lakh.

Abdul Rashid Sheikh, despite lacking formal medical qualifications, had been diagnosing patients and prescribing medications based on his self-taught understanding of medical conditions. Authorities have sealed the illegal hospital, and they are continuing their search for Sameer Sheikh, who remains at large.
