In a shocking incident that has left the local community reeling, Suman Kumar Singh, a resident of Shakti Nagar, Gurugram, has been arrested for allegedly killing his 6-year-old son, Satyam, over a simple refusal to give him water. The accused, originally from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, was arrested in the Shakti Nagar area and was later produced in court, which sent him to judicial custody on Saturday.
On May 6, the Sector-10A police station received an urgent call from a hospital regarding a 6-year-old child named Satyam, who had been admitted with a head injury. The child was referred to PGI Rohtak, where he was declared dead on arrival. The postmortem report revealed that Satyam died due to head injuries.
During the investigation, police learned that the accused, a daily wage laborer, had come home drunk after failing to find work that day. He had asked his son for water, but when the child refused, Suman Kumar Singh became enraged. He slapped Satyam, and when the child threatened to inform his mother about the incident, Suman retaliated by beating him further.
In the ensuing altercation, Satyam hit the wall several times, sustaining severe head injuries, which ultimately led to his tragic death.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the case had been filed under relevant sections of the law related to child homicide and domestic violence.
This case has left the community in shock, as it highlights the extreme nature of domestic violence and the tragic consequences it can have on innocent lives.
