In a major crackdown on narcotics trade, the State Task Force (STF) of the Excise and Prohibition Department arrested four individuals in two separate drug-related cases in Hyderabad.
In the first case, officials apprehended Farzana while she was allegedly attempting to sell MDMA near the upscale Banjara Hills locality. The STF seized 2.06 grams of MDMA from her possession. She was immediately handed over to the Serilingampally Excise Station for further legal action and investigation under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
In the second case, three more individuals were taken into custody with a significant quantity of ganja. Authorities are yet to disclose the exact amount seized or the identities of the suspects involved in the second operation.
Officials stated that both raids were the result of sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering aimed at disrupting the supply chains of synthetic and natural narcotics in urban areas of Hyderabad.
The arrests mark another step in the city’s intensified efforts to tackle the growing menace of recreational drug use, particularly among the youth in affluent neighborhoods.
