Faridabad Police have arrested 49-year-old Jitendra alias Bobby for allegedly murdering his 40-year-old live-in partner, Sonia, and concealing her body inside a bed compartment at their Jawahar Colony residence. The crime came to light after neighbors and the landlord noticed a foul odor, prompting police investigation.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on April 21 after a heated argument over comments Sonia made about Jitendra’s 20-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. In a fit of rage, Jitendra strangled Sonia with a rope and attempted to mask the smell by burning incense sticks for several days while staying in the same room.

As the odor intensified, Jitendra locked the room and fled, misleading others by claiming a rat had died inside. The crime was eventually uncovered on April 26 after Jitendra confessed to his grandmother, who alerted the police.

The Faridabad Crime Branch DLF team arrested Jitendra from Gochhi village in Jhajjar district, and he has confessed to the crime. A case has been registered under relevant murder provisions, and he has been remanded to police custody for further investigation.

Police noted similarities with other gruesome live-in partner murder cases across India, including the Shraddha Walkar case in Delhi, a recent case in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, and an incident in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area, highlighting a disturbing trend of domestic homicides.
