Faridabad cyber police have arrested two individuals, Pankaj and Sonu, in connection with an online fraud case. The accused were taken into judicial custody after being produced in a city court.

According to the complaint, a Ballabhgarh colony resident received a call from someone claiming to be the head of a department at State Bank of India (SBI). The caller sent his ID via WhatsApp and informed the complainant that he had not redeemed his credit card reward points. He then convinced the victim to download a fake SBI app, which led to a deduction of Rs 1,53,332 from the complainant’s account.

The police also revealed that the accused used to provide mobile SIM cards to cyber fraudsters for illegal activities, including buying drugs. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details of their network and activities.
