A car accident in Devarakolli on Saturday evening led to the unexpected discovery of ganja packets, prompting swift police action and the detention of three individuals.
The car, traveling from Periyapatna to Puttur via Madikeri, overturned after the driver reportedly lost control. Local residents rushed to assist but were surprised to find multiple packets of suspected ganja inside the vehicle.
They quickly alerted the Madikeri Rural Police Station, who arrived at the scene and took the three occupants into custody. The detained individuals, all from Puttur, have been identified as Fajjuddin, Mustaq, and Jabir.
The police have seized the ganja packets and launched an investigation into the origin, quantity, and intended destination of the narcotics. Further legal action is underway.
