FAIRMONT, W.Va (WDTV) – A Fairmont man is facing up to 20 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to fentanyl-related charges in federal court on Monday. Emmanuel Gibson, 34, admitted to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Court documents reveal that Gibson fled from police during a traffic stop. When officers arrested him, they discovered fentanyl-laced pills, two firearms, other controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia during a vehicle search.
Gibson’s sentencing will take place in the near future, with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Westover Police Department.
