A former Houston-based FBI agent, Nicholas Anthony Williams, has been sentenced to four months in prison after pleading guilty to theft and fraud charges related to actions taken while executing search warrants.
Williams, 37, was sentenced on Monday for three counts of embezzlement and one count of making fraudulent statements. He entered a guilty plea in September 2024 after initially facing five charges brought in January 2024.
According to court documents, Williams carried out multiple thefts between March 2022 and September 2023, stealing over $10,000 in cash and valuables — including silver bars — from at least five victims. He joined the FBI in 2019.
One of the key incidents that led to his arrest involved Alexander Fan, a University of Houston student charged in connection with the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. During a July 2023 search at Fan’s residence, Williams stole silver bars and about $2,700 in cash. This triggered an investigation that uncovered further thefts from other individuals.
Though Williams faced up to 10 years in prison, the court sentenced him to four months and ordered him to pay $10,547.97 in restitution to his victims.
