Ex-Excise Commissioner Amit Prakash Arrested in Jharkhand Liquor Scam

Amit Prakash held in Rs38 crore Jharkhand corruption case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested former Excise Commissioner Amit Prakash on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in connection with the high-profile Jharkhand liquor scam. This arrest follows the detention of senior IAS officer Vinay Kumar Choubey on May 20, who is also accused in the same case involving money laundering and corruption.

Vinay Kumar Choubey faces allegations of causing a Rs38 crore loss to the State exchequer through corrupt practices linked to the liquor scam. The ACB is continuing its investigation into the matter as more details emerge.
