Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker has terminated the employment of former Detective Spencer White following a criminal investigation into misconduct involving falsified official documents.
White was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office after a warrant was issued by the 26th Judicial District Court. He faces one count of malfeasance in office, three counts of forgery, and one count of filing or maintaining false public records—all felony charges. He was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center with bond set at $185,000.
Sheriff Parker explained that the termination followed an internal affairs investigation revealing potential misconduct. Upon a final inventory of White’s office, suspicious documents were found, prompting further investigation and the subsequent arrest.
Among the forged documents was a falsified incident report claiming White’s vehicle had been burglarized and prescription medication stolen—claims unsupported by official records. The incident number corresponded to an unrelated case, and the documents contained fabricated statements and unauthorized use of colleagues’ names and credentials. White confessed to creating the false report.
“This is a difficult day for our department, but accountability is non-negotiable,” Sheriff Parker said. “The public’s trust demands honesty and integrity from all officers—no exceptions.”
The Sheriff’s Office has recused itself from any ongoing investigation, leaving the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office to handle further inquiries.
