Evansville Man Richard Brown Arrested for Firing Gun

Charged with reckless weapon use and unlawful possession

Evansville Man Arrested After Firing Gun Into the Air

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Police responded to a shots fired call on Saturday evening on the 1200 block of MacArthur Circle, leading to the arrest of 30-year-old Richard Brown.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who reported that two men were involved in the incident. Police detained Brown and another individual, recovering a gun and two shell casings at the scene.

The other suspect told police that Brown was the one who fired the weapon.

Brown, who has a prior conviction for Domestic Battery in February 2024, is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was arrested and charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Additionally, Brown was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.

The second suspect was released without charges.

Brown is currently held at Vanderburgh County Jail awaiting further legal proceedings.
