Essexville Man, Damian Leske, Arrested for Stealing Pet Food and Drug Possession

BAY CITY, Mich. — Damian Leske, 22, of Essexville, has been arrested and is currently lodged in the Bay County Jail after being accused of stealing pet food and possessing drugs.

Leske was taken into custody around 8 p.m. on January 11 by officers from the Bay City Department of Public Safety after he allegedly attempted to rob Pet Supplies Plus at 2624 Center Avenue. A witness from the store reported that a man tried to leave with stolen items and brandished a pistol when confronted by store staff. The witness provided a description of the suspect, and officers later located his vehicle, leading to his arrest.

Authorities recovered the stolen property as well as a replica air-pistol from the scene. Leske was charged with three counts of misdemeanor third-degree retail fraud and felony drug possession under 25 grams.

He was arraigned on January 16 and is currently held on a $75,000 bond. Leske is scheduled for a pretrial conference on January 24 at 10:55 a.m. before Bay County District Court Judge Mark Janer.
