LAREDO, Texas — A 43-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly entering a parked vehicle at a Laredo gas station late Saturday, according to police.

Authorities identified the suspect as Esmeralda Ramos, who was found inside the rear seat of a Ford Explorer parked near the pumps in the 1200 block of E. Saunders Street around 10:58 p.m. The vehicle’s owner reported seeing Ramos inside without permission.

Officers located Ramos at the scene, where she initially denied being in the vehicle. Surveillance footage, however, showed Ramos approaching the SUV multiple times, looking inside, and opening the door three times before going into the store to buy a bag of ice and returning to sit in the back seat.

Earlier that evening, Ramos had been asked to leave another business for causing a disturbance, and officers noted signs of intoxication at the time of her arrest.

Ramos was charged with burglary of a vehicle and criminal trespass. She was booked at the Webb County Jail following processing at Laredo Police Department headquarters.
