A 62-year-old man from Sparta, Ernest Lee, was arrested on Friday, August 22, following a traffic stop on GA 400 that revealed multiple drugs and a firearm.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped Lee at about 1:40 a.m. for failing to maintain his lane. K9 Goose and its handler conducted a free air search, which alerted officers to the presence of drugs in the vehicle.
A search uncovered 57.53 grams of methamphetamine, 29.10 grams of cocaine, a small amount of crack cocaine, less than an ounce of marijuana, various drug-related items, and a firearm. The methamphetamine also reportedly tested positive for fentanyl.
Lee was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon during a felony, and failure to maintain his lane.
He was booked into Forsyth County Jail without bond.
