Ernakulam Railway Police Arrest Four in Theft Cases

Laptop and mobile phone thieves apprehended by authorities

Ernakulam Railway Police arrested four people in connection with three separate cases of theft involving laptops and mobile phones, officials said on Sunday (January 11).

Two of the accused, Rajasekharan Cheruvallil (55) of Kunnathunad and Martin Kuruvanthra (56) of Kaloor, were apprehended for allegedly stealing a laptop from a passenger onboard the Guruvayur-Chennai Egmore Express on Saturday (January 10).

The other two accused, Noor Ali (24) and Noor Islam Sheikh (25), both from Murshidabad, West Bengal, were arrested for allegedly stealing mobile phones from passengers on the Vivek Express and Malabar Express on the same day.

Police confirmed that all four were taken into custody for questioning, and further investigations are underway to determine if they were involved in similar thefts on other trains.
