Erichell Pérez Arrested for Foundation Theft in Santiago

Suspect has 8 prior complaints for similar crimes

Santiago, Dominican Republic — Authorities in Santiago have arrested a 24-year-old man, Erichell Pérez, for allegedly stealing multiple items from a foundation in the Santa Lucía sector on June 18. The arrest was carried out by the Property Crimes Investigation Division of the Cienfuegos municipal police detachment under warrant No. 2025-AJ0040080.

According to police spokesperson Fiordaliza Arias Popa, Pérez is accused of scaling the security fence of the foundation and stealing 10 drills, 20 electrical extensions, a 50-inch plasma television, a laptop, and a pair of sneakers.

The police were able to recover all stolen items following a thorough investigation and tracking operation.

Further investigation revealed that Pérez has at least eight previous complaints filed against him for similar criminal activities in various parts of the city.

The suspect, along with the recovered goods, has been turned over to the Public Ministry for prosecution.
