Eric Mabius Arrested in Florida for Battery and Resisting Arrest

'Ugly Betty' star faces two misdemeanor charges in Nassau County

Eric Mabius, the actor best known for his role as Daniel Meade on the ABC series Ugly Betty, was arrested early Thursday morning in Nassau County, Florida. The 52-year-old actor faces two misdemeanor charges: battery and resisting arrest without violence.

Mabius was taken into custody just after 2 a.m. and was booked at the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center by 5:45 a.m. His mugshot reveals a black eye, indicating he may have sustained an injury during the incident.

Mabius is awaiting trial for the charges. Known for his career in both television and film, Mabius rose to fame for his portrayal of Daniel Meade on Ugly Betty, which ran from 2006 to 2010. He has also had recurring roles on The L Word, The O.C., and Chicago Fire, and starred in the Hallmark Channel’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered series.
