FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) — A Fargo man, Enrico Lopez, has been arrested following serious allegations of sexual assault and child abuse, according to local police.
On April 17, officers were called to Sanford Emergency Room after a woman reported being sexually assaulted multiple times between April 16 and 17 by her ex-boyfriend, Lopez. She told police she was handcuffed to a bed and strangled until she lost consciousness.
Police noted visible injuries, including neck redness, difficulty breathing, and bruising on her wrists — signs consistent with restraint and strangulation.
The woman also reported that Lopez punched her two-year-old son in the head. The child was placed into protective custody by Cass County Child Protective Services.
Lopez was arrested and booked into Cass County Jail on charges of Class C felony aggravated domestic assault and Class B felony child abuse. He is also under investigation for Class AA felony gross sexual imposition, one of the most serious charges under North Dakota law.
