Two men, Enricky Joal Duenas, 41, and Gregory Fejeran Pajarillo, 40, were arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of stealing a bushcutter from a home in Hågat. The theft was discovered when a neighbor observed an unfamiliar vehicle parked near the victim’s residence and decided to investigate.
Around 6 a.m., the neighbor noticed flashing lights outside his window and saw a man near the victim’s house. Upon investigating further, the neighbor immediately informed the homeowner, who rushed outside to find the man fleeing with the bushcutter. The thief was seen running to a white Mitsubishi Lancer, which quickly drove off.
The stolen bushcutter, valued at $529, was the only item taken during the incident. Officers from the Guam Police Department stopped a white Mitsubishi Lancer shortly after and found the bushcutter inside. Duenas, the driver, admitted to the theft, claiming he and Pajarillo stole the bushcutter in retaliation after the victim accused him of theft and reported it to the police.
Pajarillo, who was on pretrial release for a previous theft charge, acknowledged that Duenas had picked him up earlier that morning, and they planned to steal from the location. He admitted to helping carry the stolen bushcutter to the car.
Both men face serious charges: Pajarillo was charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree theft, while Duenas was charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree theft.
