Enoch and Emily Smith Arrested for Drug Possession and Warrants

Gainesville couple arrested in Towns County for meth, marijuana, and theft-related warrants

Towns County, GA – Enoch Franklin Smith, 39, and Emily Joanne Smith, 32, both of Gainesville, were arrested on Tuesday following a traffic stop on Highway 66 in Towns County. The Towns County Sheriff’s Office reported that the couple was found in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana during the stop.

The arrests came as a result of a joint investigation between the Towns County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) and Clay County Drug Investigators, which led to the traffic stop and search of the vehicle. During the investigation, deputies discovered that both suspects had active warrants for theft of a motor vehicle out of Clay County, North Carolina. Additionally, Enoch Franklin Smith had outstanding warrants from Hall County.

Emily Smith was charged with possession of methamphetamine, use of a firearm by a convicted felon during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, and possession of less than 1 oz. of marijuana. Enoch Smith was charged with possession of methamphetamine and providing false information to law enforcement officers regarding his name, address, and birthdate.

Both individuals are being held in the Towns County Jail, with holds placed for Clay County and Hall County authorities.
