FORSYTH, Ga. (WGXA) — Five Monroe County men were arrested this week following a narcotics investigation into drug sales in and around the city of Forsyth, authorities confirmed Tuesday.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Narcotics Unit launched the investigation after receiving numerous community complaints regarding suspected drug activity.
On June 9 and 10, deputies arrested the following individuals:
Emory Denby, 50
Rex Williams, 69
Fredrick Zellner, 42
Robert Downs, 48
John Black Smith, 54
All five men, residents of Monroe County, are facing charges related to the sale and distribution of methamphetamine and/or cocaine. Each is currently being held at the Monroe County Jail without bond.
Officials say the arrests are part of an ongoing effort to crack down on illegal narcotics distribution throughout the region.
